This is a set of parts and accessories to allow the basic hollowing system to hollow to 30" or deeper. It includes a 1.75" bar 30" long with setscrews on each end for connectors which allow it to be fitted onto the 1.25" hollowing bar that comes with the basic system. The 1.25" bar becomes the handle for the larger bar and preserves use of the bearing and slot and the angle of attack adjustment feature. It also includes a fulcrum support tube for the larger bar to increase mechanical advantage. there is a 12" extension included making the bar 40" long and you can order a longer extension if desired. this extension is what the hollowing cutters mount to.
The Ultrabar mounts onto an accessory tool rest or the standard guarded tool rest like the original Fulcrum Support Tube does for the 1.25" hollowing bar. It also includes 2 connectors, a 12" extension and an adapter to set down the bar from its 1" hole to 3/4" for the common tool holders. The extension can accept 3/4" holders just like the standard hollowing bar. The big bar can be used with the adaptor in the end to accept 3/4" holders or the 12" extension can be connected to the big bar for a 42" bar. Holders for cutters can the be inserted directly into the extension.

Consider the alternative guarded tool rest so you can use your lathe's tool rest if you need more support under this big bar. It cannot be used with the standard guarded tool rest because most lathes have a tool rest that is too tall.
